Report this content

Broström has come to an agreement to sell its subsidiary Nordic Bulkers AB to the Swiss logistics company Bertschi AG. Nordic Bulkers is a dominating bulk commodity logistics company in Scandinavia utilising specially designed containers for the transport of dry as well as liquid bulk commodities, beside terminal operations. The company has about 60 employees with net sales of SEK 400 million. The company is the result of a restructuring of the Scandinavian bulk logistics market that was initiated by Broström some ten years ago. Considering Broström’s gradually increased focus on its product tanker shipping activities a sale of Nordic Bulkers has been evaluated for strategic reasons. Bertschi AG is a pan-European provider of logistics services to the chemical industry. With headquarters in Switzerland and 25 subsidiaries in 20 countries, including Eastern Europe and Russia, the company is a market leader in the intermodal transport of chemicals in Europe. The group has a turnover of EUR 280 million and 1,350 employees. For additional information please see www.bertschi.com. The sale gives Broström a book profit of approximately SEK 15 million before tax and a cash surplus of about SEK 50 million. Nordea Corporate Finance has acted as financial advisor to Broström AB.
