BROSTRÖMS' SHARE OF THE SPP SURPLUS The Board of SPP (a major Swedish life and pension insurance company) decided in December 1998 that part of their surplus funds would be refunded to the policy holders (the employers) and the assured individuals. The surplus will be allocated to companies included in the ITP plan or corresponding pension plans with SPP and SPP Liv. SPP has now given notification on the allocation to the individual companies and for the Broström Group the amount is SEK 155 million. This corresponds to SEK 5.38 per share before tax and SEK 3.87 per share after standard tax. The point of time when the surplus funds will be made available and the regulations in connection with this is yet not established.
