NEW VESSELS ON CHARTER TO BROSTRÖMS · UNITED GRACE DELIVERED TO BROSTRÖMS · VESSEL TO BE EMPLOYED UNDER EXISTING CONTRACT OF AFFREIGHTMENT · SISTER VESSEL LAUNCHED AND NAMED UNITED GLORY The wholly-owned subsidiary of Broströms, United Tankers AB, signed earlier this year a long-term chartering and co-operation agreement with Erik Thun AB regarding two product tankers under construction. The first vessel, UNITED GRACE, built at the Dutch shipyard Ferus Smit BV, has now been delivered to United Tankers. The vessel, which is a product tanker of 7,000 cbm, will primarily be employed under an existing contract of affreightment with Statoil AS, Copenhagen. The contract is one of the major transportation contracts in Europe for this type and size of vessel. - The vessel will be a modern and efficient tool in the Broström fleet and is a further example of the expansion and modernisation of the tonnage that has taken place in the last few years, this time in the segment of 7,000 cbm, says the Managing Director Lennart Simonsson. The second vessel in the series was launched on 16 October and was named UNITED GLORY by the baptizing lady Monica Angervall. The delivery of this vessel is expected to take place at the beginning of next year.
