FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla., Sept 20th, 2011 --Brownie's Marine Group, Inc. (OTCBB: BWMG), a leading developer, manufacturer and distributer of highly specialized dive and safety products, announced today that William (Bill) Mee has been appointed its Chief Technical Officer. Mr. Mee brings over 27 years of experience in computer hardware, software technology, and instrument design. He holds numerous patents and has designed many complex instrument systems involving embedded processor control and analog sensing systems. Mr. Mee’s formal education includes a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from Brown University and a Master of Science Degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University of Miami. He has served as Vice President of Engineering and Development at Verimed, Inc. (medical electronics) and, most recently for the past decade as an independent engineering and software consultant.

Robert Carmichael, Brownie’s CEO commented “We are excited and fortunate to have someone of Bill’s skill set and vision join our management team, and help us to take the ‘VS’ dive system to the next level. After producing more than 35,000 gasoline powered dive systems, our long-term objective is to make the ‘VS’ the easiest to use and feature rich, advanced consumer dive technology system available.

Mr. Carmichael further commented, “Bill has over 43 years of diving experience including extensive technical and cave diving exploration. During his career he has also served as the science officer for the Woodville Karst Plains Project (WKPP) during the mid-to-late 1990s (http://gue.com/Projects/WKPP/index.html).

Bill’s primary focus will be to help develop a line of advanced technology products into and around Brownie’s patent-pending “VS” dive system. Bill is also tasked with implementing ISO-9000 quality assurance at BMG and will be overseeing the application for the CE mark. We believe the CE approval, if granted will open the door for BMG to begin to capitalize on the VS system demand in Europe and beyond.”

Mr. Carmichael concluded, “We have already generated a significant backlog for the battery-powered VS dive systems as direct result from exhibiting at the recent consumer shows. Enhancing our invention with modern communication, data-collection, propulsion, and navigation; and moving the technology to an efficient production line configuration are immediate goals that demanded the additional expertise Bill brings to the table.”
