BTEXACT LAUNCHES COMMUNICATIONS TECHNOLOGY CONFERENCE WITH THE IEE BTexact Technologies, BT's advanced research and technology business, has joined forces with the IEE (Institution of Electrical Engineers) to host a communications technology conference. The conference will explore the issues surrounding Voice over the Internet Protocol (VoIP). This is the first communication technology conference organised by BTexact Technologies and the IEE, which deal with up-to-the-minute technology issues. The VoIP conference will be held at BTexact's headquarters, Adastral Park near Ipswich from Wednesday 31 October to Thursday 1 November. Over the course of the two days, participants will gain not only an extensive understanding of what VoIP is and what it allows people to do, but they will also be exposed to the growing implications it has on their industry, as well as the world around them. Key technology figures from BTexact make up the conference speakers, lending their expertise to enhance the knowledge of those who are attending. Richard Swale, editor of 'Voice over IP Systems and Solutions' and BTexact's leading VoIP Technologist, is chairing the event, which aims to provide a solid understanding of VoIP and illustrate how it is actively moulding new and future advancements in the communications trade. Richard Swale said: "Our aim is that the conference will enable companies to move further towards taking on board VoIP technology. The conference is designed to highlight the opportunities and applications afforded by VoIP technology."
