53 YEARS FOR WEST YORKSHIRE COUPLE

Mr John Guinan and his wife Dorothy, residents of Bupa’s Airedale Residential Home, Church Lane, Pudsey, are looking forward to celebrating their 53rd wedding anniversary on Sunday 27 June. A special intimate celebration with musical entertainment being held on Saturday 26 June from 1.30pm to 3.00pm. John and Dorothy married in 1957 after meeting at a dance. Both from Pudsey, West Yorkshire, John had a career as a gent’s hairdresser and Dorothy worked at Nobles Boxworks before taking up a post at Tap and Toothills Printing in Bradford during the war years. The couple, who have never been apart during their 53 years of marriage share an interest in snooker and enjoy watching matches on the television. John is an avid football fan and enjoys reading newspapers and has an interest in politics. Dorothy enjoys watching the tennis and has a love of ballet and the opera. She also loves shopping. Dianne Hashmi, home manager of Bupa’s Airedale Residential Home, said: “We are pleased to be celebrating this special occasion with John and Dorothy. They are such a lovely couple and it is a huge achievement. We wish them every happiness on their anniversary.”
