Residents at Bupa’s Kirknowe Care Home, Wishaw, Lanarkshire, are looking forward to their strawberry tea fete on Saturday 22 May from 2pm to 4pm. Britain’s Got Talent contestant, Janey Cutler, will be opening the fete. Janey, who is being compared to Susan Boyle, is a Wishaw resident and got through to the next round of the show with her rendition of Edith Piaf's ‘Non, Je Ne Regrette Rien’. The home will be holding a number of stalls including those selling cakes, bottles and bric-a-brac. There will also be a tombola and a chance to play ‘beat the goalie’. Bupa’s Kirknowe Care Home is inviting relatives, friends and the community to come and join in the fun, support the home and meet Wishaw’s very own singing sensation. Margaret Cunningham, home manager at Bupa’s Kirknowe Care Home says; “This is a lovely event for all of the residents, relatives and local community to come and enjoy the fun. We are very pleased to have a local celebrity to officially open our fete, particularly one from the local area. It should be a great day!”
