BUPA’S BURRSWOOD HOUSE WELCOMES NEW HOME MANAGER

Bupa Care Homes is pleased to announce the recent appointment of Neil Hooley as home manager of its Burrswood House Nursing and Residential Home in Bury, Lancashire. Neil has been working in the care home sector for the last 13 years and held various home manager positions for a number of private healthcare organisations during his career, before joining Bupa in 2003. Neil has a diploma in General Nursing Level 1, which he obtained in 1989. Neil specialises in the care of the elderly frail, which will help enhance the quality of specialist care at Burrswood House. He will also be working hard to maintain the quality and service levels at the home. In his spare time, Neil enjoys trips to the theatre, shopping and spending quality time with his friends. Ruth Yates, regional manager for Bupa’s Burrswood House Nursing and Residential Home, commented on Neil’s appointment: “We are absolutely delighted to appoint Neil as home manager. He has extensive experience in the care sector and will undoubtedly have a real impact at the home. I wish him all the best in his new role.” Neil said of his appointment: “It is a real pleasure to take on this role and I look forward to getting to know all the residents, staff and relatives at Burrswood House.” Situated in leafy Walmersley, near Bury, Burrswood House has been designed to offer nursing, residential and dementia care for elderly residents. Recently benefiting from an extensive refurbishment, Burrswood House has been awarded a prestigious ‘excellent’ rating by the Care Quality Commission and a recent annual independent survey of care home residents showed that levels of satisfaction have reached record heights. The survey revealed that 73% of residents rated the overall standard of care at Burrswood House as ‘excellent’ and/or ‘very good’. While 100% rated their buildings and surroundings as ‘excellent’ and/or ‘very good’ with staff scoring an overall result of 94%. Bedrooms at Burrswood House are attractively decorated. Most are ensuite, and many have views over the large landscaped gardens. All are fully equipped with the latest safety features, along with telephone and television points and 24-hour call alarms.
