Report this content

February is National Heart Month and Bupa’s Harts House Nursing Home, Woodford Green, Essex, will be helping to save lives by supporting the British Heart Foundation’s (BHF) Red for Heart campaign. The home will be holding a red-themed event on Thursday 11 February. Staff and residents will be encouraged to wear red and the home will be selling handcrafted goods including personalised felt hearts, personalised cakes and handmade cards. An entertainer will be serenading residents and staff with a medley of heart-themed songs. Harts House is raising money to support the BHF’s Red for Heart campaign for National Heart Month this February to help fight the UK’s biggest killer - heart and circulatory disease. Juliana Miles, home manager of Bupa’s Harts House Nursing Home, said: “We decided to support the Red for Heart campaign because we wanted to do something fun to support the British Heart Foundation’s vital work. We feel this campaign is such a worthy cause as many of our residents and family members suffer from heart related diseases. It is our way of giving something back.” Jackie Skeel, head of national campaigns at the British Heart Foundation, said: “The money raised from Bupa’s Harts House going Red for Heart campaign will help save lives and fight the UK’s biggest killer. Everyone can get involved with the campaign so please encourage your colleagues or friends to take part and help the BHF make a real difference.” For more information about the Red for Heart campaign please visit www.bhf.org.uk/red, call 0845 2410976 or email red@bhf.org.uk .
