Lorna Rose, Bupa’s regional director for London will be putting on her running shoes to raise money for Alzheimer’s Society on Monday 31 May, as she takes part in the Bupa London 10,000 Run. The run will be her fourth run in Bupa’s Great Run series, as she takes on the challenge to complete all eight runs over the course of the year. Lorna has already completed the Bupa Winter, Edinburgh and Manchester runs. Lorna’s goal is to raise as much money as possible for the Alzheimer’s Society, a charity she feels passionate about due to her work with dementia residents throughout the 26 care homes she manages. Lorna says: “Many of the residents in the homes I look after have dementia. The Alzheimer's Society and Bupa are working together to support people with dementia and their carers and to find a cure for the future. I wanted to do something to make a difference to people who are diagnosed with dementia and for their families and carers.” Siobhan Drane, Bupa’s community affairs consultant, says: “I’m very proud of Lorna for the all the hard work she has put in training for these runs. She has been very enthusiastic about each and every race and her determination to succeed whilst raising money for such a worthy cause is inspiring. I wish Lorna the best of luck with the race, and the future events she is taking part in.” Bupa will match all the money raised by employees taking part in the run.
