A team from Bupa Care Services’ sales ledger support department, based in Horsforth, Leeds are taking part in a community challenge on Wednesday 28 October. The team will take 20 sheltered housing residents from Bramley to enjoy a horse show and then on for a fish and chip supper in Pudsey. The horse show at Bowers House Farm in Hillham, Leeds will include show jumping, dressage and the opportunity to feed the horses and take a tour of the stables. To complete the day the team will treat their guests to fish and chips at the Wetherby Whaler on their return. Eight members of the sales ledger support department are taking part in what is anticipated to be a fun filled day out and the team have been raising money through a raffle. Christine Halliday, who organised the challenge, says: “We are looking forward to an enjoyable day and it is a great opportunity to meet the residents from the local sheltered housing centre. Everyone is excited about attending the horse show, and the fish and chip supper will be an added treat. We are glad we are able to contribute something positive towards the community.” Siobhan Drane, Bupa’s community affairs consultant, says: “Our sales ledger team are really looking forward to a fun day and the opportunity to get to know local residents and treat them to a good day out. Helping to make a difference to the communities in which we operate is extremely important and this is just one of many community challenges that Bupa employees have completed so far in 2009. In fact, it’s looking as though this could be a record-breaking year for volunteering for us!”
