Report this content

February is National Heart Month and Bupa’s Woodend Nursing and Residential Centre, Altrincham, Cheshire, will be helping to save lives by supporting the British Heart Foundation’s (BHF) Red for Heart campaign. The home will be holding red-themed events throughout the month and on National Wear Red Day on Friday, 26 February, residents and staff will pay a donation to raise money for the charity and wear red for the day. Residents and staff will also be able to send ‘love heart’ messages to friends and family for a small donation. Messages will be displayed around the home. Woodend is raising money to support the BHF’s Red for Heart campaign for National Heart Month this February to help fight the UK’s biggest killer - heart and circulatory disease. Neil Hooley, home manager of Bupa’s Woodend Nursing and Residential Centre, said: “We decided to support the Red for Heart campaign because we wanted to do something fun to support the British Heart Foundation’s vital work. We feel this campaign is such a worthy cause and it is our way of giving something back.” Jackie Skeel, head of national campaigns at the British Heart Foundation, said: “The money raised from Bupa’s Woodend going Red for Heart campaign will help save lives and fight the UK’s biggest killer. Everyone can get involved with the campaign so please encourage your colleagues or friends to take part and help the BHF make a real difference.” For more information about the Red for Heart campaign please visit www.bhf.org.uk/red, call 0845 2410976 or email red@bhf.org.uk .
