A team from Bupa Care Services’ based in Horsforth, will be hosting a Christmas party for 130 older people on Thursday 9 December from 1.30pm to 4pm at Meanwood Working Men’s Club. The party has been organised in association with ‘Zest – Health for life’, a Leeds based charity which aims to strengthen disadvantaged communities in Leeds and reduce health and social inequalities. Older people from Meanwood, Burmantofts and Richmond Hill will be treated to an afternoon of entertainment and Christmas delights including Christmas crackers, Christmas games and Christmas Carols. Bupa employees will also be donating gifts that party attendees can open on Christmas Day. Other organisations supporting this event include Leeds Metropolitan University, Leeds City College, Emsleys Solicitors and DLA Piper. Siobhan Drane, Bupa’s community affairs consultant, said: “I’d like to thank colleagues for their generous support for this event. For the majority of these older people attending the party, Christmas will be a lonely time as they won't have visitors on Christmas day. We hope this event will be a great opportunity for everyone to have a fun time and make some new friends. Zest are really pleased to work with Bupa again and everyone is looking forward to the party. Working with communities is an integral part of Bupa Care Services agenda.”
