A team from Bupa Care Services’ purchasing support and accounts payable departments based in Horsforth, are taking part in a community challenge on Friday 3 September. The group will be taking over 30 older people from Leeds on a trip to Skipton. They will take a trip on a barge along the canal and enjoy a fish and chip lunch. The trip has been organised in association with ‘Zest – Health for life’ a Leeds based volunteer run charity who aim to strengthen disadvantaged communities in Leeds and reduce health and social inequalities. The teams have had a tremendous amount of support to help organise this trip from companies including: Virgin Active, Beauty Above, Cooper and Hall, the Fox and Hound, Fox Menston, Acorn, Benzl, Bradford Bulls, Vue Cinema, Hollywood Bowl, HSNE and 3663 catering. Theresa Rowland, Bupa’s purchasing support team member says, “We are really looking forward to our trip to Skipton and to partner with ‘Zest – Health for Life’. This is a great opportunity to help the community out. Thank you to everyone that has supported us to help make this happen, we hope everyone has a fantastic and memorable day out.” Siobhan Drane, Bupa’s community affairs consultant, said: “I’d like to thank colleagues for their generous support. The team did a tremendous job organising this event, all in their own time. Zest are really pleased to work with Bupa again and everyone is looking forward to the trip. Working with communities is an integral part of Bupa Care Services agenda.”
