Bupa’s Church Farm Residential Home, East Wittering, Chichester, are celebrating after receiving the runner up prize for The Pet Friendly Care Home of the Year Award from the Cinnamon Trust. The awards ceremony was held on Tuesday 24 November and Bupa’s Church Farm Residential Home was one of only six care homes to be in the running for the prestigious title, after beating over 830 entrants. The Cinnamon Trust is the only specialist national charity which seeks to relieve the anxieties, problems, and sometimes injustices, faced by elderly and terminally ill people and their pets, thereby saving a great deal of human sadness and animal suffering. Church Farm regularly encourages animals into the home and, along with housecat Lily, the home also houses a number of budgies. Phyl Jeffery, home manager at Bupa’s Church Farm says; “We are extremely proud to be crowned runner up for the Pet Friendly Care Home of the Year. Animals make a big difference to a resident’s life and can be a big comfort when it comes to moving into a care home. We actively encourage residents to bring their pets with them and we are glad that we can bring a smile to a resident’s face. We had a lovely afternoon at the awards ceremony and I would like to thank everyone for their hard work and dedication.”
