DOVE COURT HOLDS LANCASHIRE AFTERNOON TEA PARTY

Bupa’s Dove Court Residential and Nursing Home, Shuttleworth Street, Burnley, is looking forward to holding its Lancashire afternoon tea party on Thursday 17 September from 2pm, in the home’s Nightingale unit. Local historian, Roger Frost, will be joining residents and staff for tea and refreshments and will be providing the home with an insightful discussion on the theme of ‘Lancashire – a history of’. Roger, who was the former Mayor of Burnley, has published many influential books including Top o' th' Town Burnley and A Lancashire Township: the history of Briercliffe-with-Extwistle, he also regularly writes for the Burnley Express and is currently Councillor for the Liberal Democrat party. Stephanie Burns, activity co-ordinator at Dove Court Residential and Nursing Home, says: “We’re all looking forward to meeting Roger and hearing more about our region’s local history, I’m sure our residents will have a lot of questions for him. It should be a very interesting and enjoyable day.”
