EDWARD CELEBRATES A CENTURY!

Mr Edward Brown, a resident of Bupa’s Brandon Park Residential and Nursing Home, Brandon, Suffolk is looking forward to celebrating his 100th birthday on Sunday 9 May 2010. The home will hold a party on the Sunday from xx to xx and there will be musical entertainment for friends and family. One staff member is planning to make Edward a very special hundredth birthday cake. Edward was born in 1910, and had two brothers and two sisters. He married Nell, in 1940 and they lived very happily together in the village of Snailwell. Edward was in the home guards, and worked on a cattle farm, as well as having a bread and milk round. Edward has always enjoyed cooking and was famous for his sausage rolls, as well as his Christmas cakes which he used to make for all the family every year. Edward has always loved cricket and football, as well as visiting museums – his favourites being Duxford and Thursford. Lisa Elmy, home manager at Bupa’s Brandon Park Residential and Nursing Home, says: “We are delighted to share this special occasion with Edward. He is really looking forward to reaching the 100 landmark and we hope it will be a really special day for him to spend with his friends and family.”
