FLORENCE CELEBRATES A CENTURY!

Mrs Florence Langstreth, a resident of Bupa’s Bankhouse Nursing Home, Poulton-le-Fylde, Lancashire, is looking forward to celebrating her 100th birthday on Wednesday 20 January. The home will be celebrating with a party for 25 family members and friends at 4pm. There will be karaoke followed by a buffet. Pianist and accordion player, Jean Southern, will be performing live. Florence was born in 1910 in Radcliffe and attended Radcliffe Parish School. She had one brother and a sister. Her career was spent as a weaver and she married her husband John in 1929 at Warth Fold Methodist Church. The couple went on to have four sons together. Florence now has six grandchildren, five great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren. Florence enjoyed holidaying in Italy, Spain, Monaco, France and China and has a large photo album of her travels. Florence’s hobbies include reading, knitting, watching films, playing bingo and listening to music. Janet Waring, home manager at Bupa’s Bankhouse Nursing Home, says: “We are delighted to share this special occasion with Florence. She is really looking forward to reaching the 100 landmark and we hope it will be a really special day for her to spend with her friends and family.”
