KATHLEEN CELEBRATES 105 YEARS!

Mrs Kathleen Webb, a resident of Bupa’s Maypole Nursing Centre, Southampton, Hampshire, is looking forward to celebrating her 105th birthday on Monday 14 June. The home will be celebrating with a birthday tea for family members, friends and relatives at 2pm. The Mayor and Mayoress, Councillor John Caldwell and Jennifer Caldwell will be in attendance. Kathleen was born in 1905 and she had three sisters and two brothers. She worked in a shop during World War I and was an experienced needlewoman. Kathleen and her husband had two daughters, Valerie and Maureen. Kathleen now has seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. Kathleen is an experienced dancer, and has previously been a ballroom champion. She enjoyed holidaying in places like Portugal and Jersey, and has holidayed throughout England on numerous dancing holidays. Her hobbies include dancing, sewing, reading the Daily Mail and watching Songs of Praise. Nikki Simpson, home manager at Bupa’s Maypole Nursing Centre, says: “We are delighted to share this special occasion with Kathleen. She is really looking forward to her birthday tea with her friends and family. We hope it will be a really special day for her.”
