LILLIAN CELEBRATES 100TH BIRTHDAY

Lillian Archer, a resident of Bupa’s Gallions View Nursing Home, Thamesmead, is looking forward to celebrating her 100th birthday on Saturday 14 November. The home will be hosting a birthday party for Lillian at 2.00pm. Entertainment will begin at 3.00pm from Adrian Chapman, a singer and guitarist with a large repertoire of songs ranging from country, sing-along, 60s and 70s, Rock n' Roll and party and ballroom. Councillor Janet Gillman, former mayor, will be attending the celebrations. Lillian was born in Woolwich in 1909. She worked at The Dreadnought Seamen’s Hospital in Greenwich for many years, a hospital which cared for former seamen. She has one brother and three sisters. She went on to marry after being engaged for 14 years and after the passing of her first husband, she went on to marry again at the age of 76. Rachael Watts, home manager at Bupa’s Gallions View, says: “We are pleased to be celebrating this special occasion with Lillian. She is really looking forward to her party and we hope she enjoys the entertainment and meeting the mayor.”
