LOCAL CARE HOME OPENS NEW SENSORY ROOM

The staff and residents of Bupa’s Meadow Bank Nursing and Residential Home in Preston, Lancashire officially opened a new sensory room on its Beech House unit, on Friday 8 January. Relatives of current and past residents attended the event and guests were treated to a buffet and refreshments, with local singer, Don O’Dell, performing. The sensory room contains bubble tubes, a light projector and a high spec music system. The new facility will be named the Alan Beswick Room after a former resident. Alan’s wife Sheila, officially opened the room. Helen Askins, home manager at Bupa’s Meadow Bank Nursing and Residential Home, says: “We are all very excited about our new sensory room. It will provide a comfortable and stimulating environment for our residents to spend time in. Thank you to everyone who has made this all possible.”
