MAINTENANCE MAN AT LOCAL CARE HOME ACHIEVES THIRD PLACE IN COMMUNITY CHAMPION OF THE YEAR AWARD

Jack McDonald, maintenance man at Bupa’s Balcarres Care Home in Dundee has been awarded third place in the category of ‘Community Champion of the Year’ at the Community Champion Awards. Bupa’s Community Champion Awards recognise the efforts of employees and dedication to fundraising, volunteering and engaging with their communities. Jack McDonald was awarded third place in the Community Champion of the Year category for his commitment to helping the residents of Balcarres Care Home and the local community. At 72 years old, Jack never stops going the extra mile to help Bupa’s Balcarres run a variety of events including raffles and fancy dress parties to support charitable causes. Jack McDonald, maintenance man at Bupa’s Balcarres Care Home said: “I thoroughly enjoy my job and I’m delighted to have been recognised in this way. I take pleasure in spending time with the residents and it is fantastic to be able to be a part of all the different events and activities that go on throughout the year within our home.” Colleagues from across Bupa were invited to join Bupa Chairman, Lord Leitch for a prestigious awards ceremony that took place recently at the Berkeley Hotel in Knightsbridge, London.
