The residents and staff of Bupa’s Mill View Residential and Nursing Home, Bolton, Lancashire, will be setting out on a sponsored walk in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society. The walk will take place on Friday 10 September and will be around the grounds of Mill View. The volunteers will be setting off at 2.00pm and the walk will finish with afternoon tea in the garden. One in three people over the age of 65 has a form of dementia and there are currently 750,000 people living with dementia in the UK. As Mill View offers nursing care to people with dementia, the work of the Alzheimer’s Society is particularly relevant. Sue Kilby, activity co-ordinator at Bupa’s Mill View Residential and Nursing Home, says: “Everyone is really excited about participating in this walk, especially as we are raising vital funds to help the work of the Alzheimer’s Society. We are asking everyone to come along and join in a fun afternoon and raise funds for a worthy cause.” People wishing to make a donation to the charity or sponsor the home’s walkers can call Mill View on 01204 391211.
