PEGGY CELEBRATES 104TH BIRTHDAY

Friday, 12 June 2009 Lillian Ruette, known as Peggy, a resident of Bupa’s Gallions View Nursing Home, Thamesmead, is looking forward to celebrating her 104th birthday on Monday 15 June. The home will be hosting a birthday party for Lillian on 15th June at 2.30pm. The party will include entertainment from an Elvis impersonator and a visit from the mayor, Councillor Bernard Clews. Peggy was born in London in 1905. She went to Finsbury Park School and went on to join the ATS where she was a chambermaid, waitress and shop assistant. She had two brothers and two sisters. She went on to marry and had one son, Maurice who has given her a grandson, Andrew. Peggy enjoys watching films, reading novels and her pastimes include swimming. Judith Clark, Home manager at Bupa’s Gallions View, says: “We are pleased to be celebrating this special occasion with Peggy. She is really looking forward to her party and we hope she enjoys the entertainment and meeting the mayor.”
