RESIDENTS PRAISE OUTSTANDING CARE AT LOCAL BUPA CARE HOMES

Residents have given Pendean House Nursing Home and Regency Court Nursing Centre a seal of approval. Results of an annual independent survey have revealed that the Bupa care homes received an overall satisfaction score of 91% from residents who were asked to judge the homes on all aspects of their care. Moira Baxter, regional manager, said: “We are delighted with this response from our residents. The survey results also show that across the UK the overall level of resident satisfaction has reached record heights. “We have many dedicated people doing their best, day in day out, to provide excellent, individual care for our residents. I am pleased their efforts are being appreciated by the people who matter and who are in the best position to judge our care.” Bupa recognises that appropriate activities and stimulating interactions are an essential element of resident care and 100% of Regency Court Nursing Centre residents rated the events and activities in their Bupa care home as either ‘very good’ or ‘excellent’. Great training and support are vital for care home staff and 100% of Pendean House Nursing Home residents recognised the commitment of staff at their home and rated the staff as either ‘very good’ or ‘excellent’. The Care Quality Commission (CQC) has awarded 87% of our English homes with a ‘Good’ or ‘Excellent’ rating for the care and service we give to our residents. The rating is judged on various criteria, including the experiences of people using the service, whether the home meets the key national standards and how well the needs of residents are met through individual plans of care. Bupa care homes are open to everyone and over 70% of residents are publicly funded. Care is tailored to the needs of residents and homes offer different levels of support from general nursing and dementia to residential and respite.
