Staff and residents at Bupa’s Shockerwick House Residential and Nursing Home, Bath, Somerset, are looking forward to the home’s dog show and summer fete on Saturday 31 July. The dog show, which returns to the home after a two year absence, will see dogs competing in 19 different categories including pedigree pooch, waggiest tail, and best fancy dress. Entry to each category is £1 and Shockerwick House is inviting friends, family and members of the community to support the home and bring along their furry companions to take part. The home has also registered the show with the Kennel Club. The home is also hosting a paw trek around the grounds. All attendees, with or without dogs, are encouraged to take part to help raise money for The Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, a charity who work as a team to deliver mobility and access services that meet the needs and aspirations of blind and partially-sighted people in the United Kingdom. Other attractions on the day include a cake stall, a book stall, a tombola and raffle, a cookwear stall, a furnishing stall and many other local craft stalls. Ice-cream and refreshments are available to purchase and the home will be holding a BBQ. Linda Watts, home manager at Bupa’s Shockerwick House Residential and Nursing Home, said: “This is a lovely event for all of our residents and their relatives, as well as the local community to come and enjoy the fun. We have a host of attractions on the day and everyone is really looking forward to the event.”
