Agreement concluded between Bure and Stockholm County Council regarding S:t Görans Hospital Negotiations were today concluded between Stockholm County Council and Bure Health Care regarding S:t Görans Hospital. The parties have thus completed the general agreement from May which comprised acquisition of the shares in S:t Göran, and the terms and conditions for the hospital's health care production. In addition, the agreement contains investments in, among other things, health care development. Bure Health Care Corporation, which assumes the responsibility for the operation of the hospital on 15 November, will now have an annual salesrate of SEK 3.8 billion and 4,550 employees. "- S:t Göran becomes Bure Health Care Corporation´s base for new forms of patient-controlled health care programs, IT Support and organisation development. The objective is more efficient health care with a clear focus on the patient," says Per Båtelson, President of Bure Health Care Corp. S:t Göran now becomes a subsidiary of Bure Health Care Corp., the leading company in Sweden for publicly-financed health care. The hospital will continue to produce health care at the request of Stockholm County Council. For patients, the change in ownership will thus not involve any difference with regard to patient charges and the opportunity to get treatment in the hospital. "- S:t Göran is already one of the most successful hospitals in Sweden. With Bure as the new owner, we are able to continue to develop in the direction of a network hospital. This means care which is closer to the patients, investment in our spearhead segments and an ambition to become the work place of the future. The opportunity to make significant IT investments is an important contribution in the development," says Stellan Ungerholm, President of S:t Görans Hospital. The validity of the agreement is subject to approval by the Bure Board of Directors and the Stockholm County Council.
