Bure acquires three education companies

Bure acquires another three education companies - increases annual sales rate by SEK 200M Bure's newly-established business area Education acquires another three important training companies in the rapid building-up of the business sector. Within Corporate Training, the IT training companies Informator and Nordisk Datautbildning have been acquired. Within the business sector Schools the first investment is being carried out with the acquisition of Vittra Förskolor och Skolor. The annual sales rate in total for the acquisitions amounts to SEK 200M, which already gives the business area net sales of approximately SEK 450M. Bure's business area Education was established on 5 November with the acquisitions of Mercuri International Scan Asia and Fama. The business sector consists of the business sectors Corporate Training, focused on training in IT, leadership and marketing, and Schools focused on pre-schools and compulsory schools. Informator is a leading IT training company with a turnover of approximately SEK 90M. Informator offers advanced IT training for consultants, system administrators and other professionals within the IT area. Nordisk Datautbildning has a turnover of SEK 30M and is focused on IT training for people using the computer as their work tool. "Through the acquisitions' of Informator and Nordisk Datautbildning and our previous acquisitions of Fama, the business area Education will become the leader in IT training in Sweden with a total volume of approximately SEK 150M within the segment. We expect the segment to grow very rapidly both regarding services for the professional market as well as for common users of IT," says Sven-Åke Lewin, who is head of the business sector. The acquisition of Vittra is the first within Schools. The company runs 9 pre- and compulsory schools in the Stockholm area with a turnover of approximately SEK 80M and adequate profitability. "Vittra is a forerunner within the development of publicly-funded private schools on a larger scale," says Sven-Åke Lewin. "By close co-operation with educationalists, parents and pupils, Vittra has under the management of Stig Johansson, managed to offer high quality in education and learning. Vittra's concept and organisation will constitute a platform for the continued expansion of the School operations". After the acquisitions' business sector Education will have an annual turnover of approximately SEK 450M. Additional acquisitions are planned for the next half year, principally within Corporate training. Already during 1999 the business sector is expected to reach a sales rate of approximately SEK 1,000M.
