Bure InfoMedia's investment in the USA +400% Booked investment of approximately SEK 33M currently worth around SEK 167M Media Metrix, which is the leading company in web measuring in the US, has been listed on NASDAQ in the USA (MMXI). The listing was carried out via a new share issue at a price of USD 17 per share. On 11 May the share was quoted at a price of more than USD 45. Bure's ownership amounts to 2.7 per cent and, following the introduction, has generated a surplus value of SEK 134M. "We immediately realised the future opportunities for the company and at an early stage acquired a stake in the company, RelevantKnowledge, which was merged with Media Metrix in autumn 1998. Media Metrix is at the absolute forefront of the spearhead technology within measuring and evaluation of extensive web services such as portals and e-trading sites," says Ulf Ivarsson, Executive Vice President of Bure and Head of Bure InfoMedia. The stockmarket introduction of Media Metrix was carried out via a new issue of 3,000,000 shares at a price of USD 17 per share. With the new issue, Bure's ownership fell to approximately 2.7 per cent. On 10 May, the value of the participation amounted to SEK 167M, a surplus value of SEK 134M. In Sweden, Media Metrix is represented through Sifo Group's subsidiary Sifo Interactive Media, which has exclusive licence-right in all the Nordic countries. Bure InfoMedia owns 51 per cent of capital and 64 per cent of votes in Sifo. Media Metrix with the power of RelevantKnowledge is the leading company in the USA within audience measuring of web pages. The company has gathered a panel comprising more than 40,000 people who have special software installed in their computers. The program makes it possible to register how the user behaves on the Internet, which web pages are the most visited, measuring of the attractiveness of the pages and their market potential. Media Metrix has approximately 300 customer companies such as leading advertising agencies, traditional media companies, e-trading companies, large technology companies, financial institutions, web producers and various types of analysis companies.
