Bure IT creates leading network integrators

Bure IT creates one of the leading network integrators in the Nordic countries Merger of Salcom and Santa Monica Software Bure IT together with the other owners in AB and Santa Monica Software OY (SMS) have today carried out a merger of the companies. The merger is a first step in preparing a stockmarket listing. Bure IT owns 60 per cent of SMS and, like the other owners of SMS, now incorporates its holding in Salcom AB by subscription in kind. Bure's ownership in Salcom is maintained and will remain at 61 per cent following the merger. The new Group, which will shortly launch its new name, has sales of more than SEK 700M and is represented in Sweden, Finland, Denmark, Estonia and Poland. The new Group will be a leading company in security, monitoring and integration of networks. Together with products from leading suppliers such Cisco, Tivoli, Nortel, Ascend and Checkpoint, the Group has a strong position in the Baltic Region. "When we acquired Salcom, our objective was to develop the company to become the leading supplier of advanced network solutions in Northern Europe. Following the merger with SMS, we have advanced some way down that road," says Björn Boldt-Christmas, Head of Bure IT. Bure IT forms one of five Business Areas in Investment AB Bure.
