Bure's subsidiary Chematur Engineering acquires the German company Plinke Chemieanlagen Chematur Engineering has signed an agreement regarding acquisition of the German company Plinke GmbH & CO. Chemieanlagen KG. Plinke is based in Bad Homburg, north of Frankfurt, Germany and will be a part of Chematur Engineering AB based in Karlskoga, Sweden. Plinke has world-wide and leading activities within the areas acid recovery, purification and concentration of acids as well as proprietary adiabatic process for nitrobenzene production. The company will continue its present operations under the name of Chematur Plinke GmbH and with Dr Günter Plinke as Managing Director. The company has 35 employees and an annual turnover of about 25 MDEM/year with good profitability. The process supplies of both companies will supplement and strengthen each other well. Chematur has today strong positions among others within the business area hydrogen peroxide and after the acquisition Chematur Engineering will have a world-leading position within the acid purification and concentration areas. The order backlog amounts to about 1100 MSEK. Chematur and Plinke have co-operated for many years within several projects and the acquisition is a natural part of Chematur's focusing on environmentally friendly processes and an intensification of the market position in western Europe. The new group will in 1998 have an annual turnover of about 640 MSEK with a profit before taxes of at least 40 MSEK. The acquisition is dependant on approval from the German cartel authorities.
