London, UK – A team of five representatives from Barclays and AbilityNet have won Business Disability Forum's (BDF) annual Technology Taskforce MegaQuiz. The team beat a host of others to win the quiz and take home the coveted 'MegaQuiz Mug'. A team of representatives from Microlink PC, University of East London, Lloyds Banking Group and Cheedale ltd came second, with a team from Standard Chartered Bank winning a tiebreaker round to take third place.

The Technology Taskforce holds the annual MegaQuiz as an opportunity for ICT practitioners everywhere to put their disability know-how to the test. The evening follows the format of popular quiz shows like 'Have I got news for you', with this year's quiz hosted by television personality Cerrie Burnell. Organisations competed over an epic, five round contest for the honour of being crowned champions for 2014.

Lucy Ruck, Technology Taskforce Manager at Business Disability Forum, said:

"The annual MegaQuiz is an opportunity for ICT professionals to come together in a fun environment and test their own knowledge of how disability affects business against their own peers, clients, competitors and suppliers – all while having an enjoyable evening out with colleagues."

"The MegaQuiz is also a fantastic opportunity for Technology Taskforce members to network with other like-minded individuals and learn more about how ICT plays a vital role in making our workplaces and services more accessible to disabled people."

The event was hosted by Barclays at their offices in Canary Wharf. All funds raised from the event will be ring-fenced for the Technology Taskforce, an initiative which aims to transform the global marketplace by working with buyers and suppliers of technology on issues of accessibility.

In 2008, Business Disability Forum launched the Technology Taskforce, a Partner initiative which brings together some of the world's largest procurers and suppliers of ICT including: American Express, HMRC, Sainsbury’s', Cisco Systems, Fujitsu and Oracle. The taskforce was created because the technology that should liberate talent and productivity for everyone can make it unnecessarily difficult to recruit and retain good employees, and to do business with millions of customers if it is inaccessible to people with disability.
