London, UK – Leading UK inclusive recruiter Equal Approach have become the sponsor of Business Disability Forum's (BDF) Recruitment Protocol, which forms part of BDF's Recruitment Agencies Campaign to improve the accessibility of recruitment processes for disabled people.

Equal Approach recently became a Partner of BDF, joining more than 300 large public and private organisations including American Express, BBC, Ministry of Defence, Sainsbury's and PwC.

BDF and Equal Approach’s work together as part of the Recruitment Agencies Campaign promotes the use of BDF's Recruitment Protocol and Recruitment Service Provider Charter, both of which provide recruitment suppliers and partners with practical steps they can adopt to be disability-smart recruiters.

The BDF-led campaign is supported by recruitment industry representatives such as CIPD, The Recruitment Society and APSco, as well as disability charities such as The Shaw Trust and National Autistic Society.

George Selvanera, Director of Policy, Services and Communications at BDF, said:

"The investment and support of key Partners such as Equal Approach is essential to BDF promoting best recruitment practices that help business to recruit the best talent from the widest possible pool. Over 75 UK businesses have signed up to our Recruitment Protocol so far, and with the support of Equal Approach and our other Members and affiliates, we are confident that an even greater number of organisations will commit to getting recruitment practices right for disabled people."

Dawn Milman-Hurst, Chief Executive at Equal Approach, said:

"Inclusive recruitment is at the heart of Equal Approach, and as a disability-smart recruiter, we recognise the barriers that disabled candidates face. I believe that more needs to be done by the recruitment industry in order to remove these barriers, which is why Equal Approach has made the commitment to sponsor Business Disability Forum’s Recruitment Protocol.

We hope that the Recruitment Protocol will support both employers and agencies to become disability-smart in their recruitment processes, by providing them with 10 best practice action points that they can implement for barrier-free inclusive recruitment."
