London, UK- Today Trevor Pearce, Director of Economic Crime Command at the National Crime Agency (NCA), was presented with Business Disability Forum’s Disability Champion award.

Susan Scott-Parker, Founder and CEO, Business Disability Forum, presented Trevor with the award for his work as part of the 2013 Disability Standard. The world-leading Disability Standard provides a basis for all businesses to measure their progress in relation to disability confidence across 10 elements including recruitment, retention, premises, technology and customer interface.

Brendan Roach, Senior Disability Consultant and Information & Advice Manager said:

"Senior leadership is vital if an organisation is to become truly disability-smart.

We gave Trevor our Disability Champion award because he really has driven the disability agenda within NCA, particularly championing mental health and dyslexia training. Two issues affecting a large number of employees.”

Trevor chairs the NCA’s Disability Network Advisory Group. The NCA has been a Partner of Business Disability Forum for eight years.

Trevor said: "I am delighted to receive this award from Business Disability Forum. In particular it recognises what the NCA Disability Network Advisory Group has achieved for the agency and its officers and what the group will be doing in the future."
