Finland – the happiest country in the world – invites Indian startup founders and talents to find out what is behind the happiness

For the sixth year in a row, Finland has been named the happiest country in the World Happiness Report, published annually by the Sustainable Development Solutions Network, a global initiative for the United Nations. What is behind this happiness and what kind of collaboration options are there for Indian startups and talents in Finland? The Finlandworks team will be at the Great International Developers Summit (GIDS) from 25th to 28th April in Bangalore to answer these questions.

The Finns and their society have long been considered to be the happiest in the world. In the World Happiness Report, ‘happiness’ means people's satisfaction with their lives. This satisfaction is measured based on GDP, life expectancy, generosity, social support, freedom, and corruption, all of which Finland is a forerunner in.

“But why is Finland attractive for Indians? Finland has a vibrant startup ecosystem providing high quality services for startups, such as accelerators and incubators, co-working spaces and various soft-landing services,” explains Hanna Riski, Senior Advisor at the Work in Finland unit at Business Finland. “Finland is a stable business environment for startups and an excellent testing ground for new technologies, and it offers easy access to European markets.”

“Finland is a safe and high-functioning welfare state and Finnish society has certain cornerstones that make everyday life good,” says Laura Lindeman, Senior Director of the Work in Finland unit at Business Finland. “Family welfare and equality are values universally upheld by Finnish society – and they're embedded in workplace policies and culture, too. The healthy balance between work and leisure in Finland also gives plenty of opportunities to enjoy the country's unique nature.”

From 25th to 28 th April, the Finlandworks team is presenting startup and career opportunities to Indians at GIDS 2023.
