Finnish expertise at AGRITECHNICA 2017: sustainable agrotechnology solutions that increase productivity and save money
Finland has a long history of agricultural innovation and is the source of many internationally recognized agro solutions. At AGRITECHNICA, eight industry-leading Finnish companies will showcase their innovative, safe solutions that help farmers to work in a more sustainable and cost-efficient way.
This year’s focus at AGRITECHICA, organised in Hanover on 12-18 November 2017, is on the future of crop production: discovering how smart technology helps to develop a greener future. Clean nature has always formed the basis of the Finnish way of life, so sustainability comes naturally to us. Sustainability is an important driver for Finnish companies in the development of new machinery and equipment due to the harsh conditions and vulnerability of the Northern environment.
Smart, energy-efficient solutions
Finnish companies offer a wide range of machines and solutions for productive and more sustainable agriculture. For example, Demeca has developed smart ventilation and manure removal technologies that are easily controlled with a centralized system.
“The Demeca Ventilation solution boosts the natural air circulation and adds productivity and animal comfort. This turns into cash in the farmer’s pocket,” says Pekka Vinkki, CEO at Demeca. “Our manure removal system cleans alleys safely and automatically according to pre-determined schedules, or manually, if necessary. We also provide smart biogas plants to be connected to manure removal solutions. By utilizing manure and surplus feeds, farmers can operate in a sustainable way and save in energy and heating costs.”
Another example of the Finnish expertise is JPT-Industria’s feed factories. “Our hygienic, automated and reliable feed mills guarantee energy-efficiency and safety. The modular structure enables fast implementation and reduces economic risks in scheduling. High-level automation reduces the need for operating staff, enhances security on site and lowers maintenance costs,” says Juha Hööpakka, Sales Manager at JPT-Industria.
