IPL State a Clear Advantage with Apprenticeships
A Teesside based manufacturer IPL has seen the huge benefits that can be reaped from investing in quality apprenticeships, with the help of Business Impact.
The quality of service and close working relationship developed between Emma State (20), who started her apprenticeship at the end of 2011, and her assessor/trainer Lisa Cunningham from Business Impact has ensured she completed the apprenticeship successfully, and is now an excellent asset to the team at IPL.
When Emma State started her apprenticeship with the business, she had to cope with a sudden illness causing absence from work and then a change in training provider before Business Impact picked up her apprenticeship, and ensured she completed the full apprenticeship, and receiving her NVQ Level 2 in Business Administration. IPL supported Emma throughout the whole programme and now have an excellent additional member of the front of house sales team.
Emma State commented: ‘It was a real challenge joining a technical business like IPL, because there is so much to learn and the business is truly outstanding in their field. It was thanks to the support I received from Lisa at Business Impact, that my apprenticeship went so smoothly. She came to see me regularly and helped guide me through all the critical stages of the assessment. She was much more than just an assessor, as she always made me feel I was capable of completing the qualification, and gave me as much support as I needed.’
Emma is now part of the front desk team at IPL and manages daily enquiries from customers, gaining a broad understanding of a whole range of technical issues and documentation associated with the business. She has gained excellent experience and is being encouraged by IPL to look at the next stage of her progression, which would lead to an NVQ Level 3 qualification.
