Today, the UN climate summit COP29 starts in Baku, Azerbaijan. Sweden is on site with a large business delegation and expert authorities to show Swedish solutions to the world's climate challenges. Companies, decision-makers and the public can follow the program via Business Sweden's live broadcast during the meeting.

The Swedish pavilion will be inaugurated on Tuesday, 12 November, at noon local time, with Business Sweden's CEO Jan Larsson participating together with Sweden's chief negotiators, UN chiefs, COP presidents, climate experts and business leaders from the Swedish business community.

"Swedish companies offer groundbreaking solutions that can drive the green transition globally. At COP29, we will be able to showcase these solutions and the potential that Swedish companies have in the necessary transition. Sweden has the tools - that is our message here in Baku," says Jan Larsson, CEO of Business Sweden.

The Swedish pavilion serves as a unique meeting place for business leaders, government representatives, climate negotiators and organizations to discuss concrete solutions and measures for global climate work. In collaboration with Swedish authorities and the business community, Business Sweden highlights Sweden's role as a global "climate matchmaker" - by data-driven matching countries' climate needs with Team Sweden's broad toolbox of climate solutions such as innovations, policy solutions, financial instruments/tools and expertise.

A wide range of authorities, organizations and companies, including both Sweden's largest export companies and smaller tech companies, are part of the Swedish delegation: AFRY, Alfa Laval, BCC, ClimateView, Doconomy, E.ON, EKN, Swedish Energy Agency, EQT, Flower, Hitachi Energy, Ingrid Capacity, Inter IKEA Group, Minesto, Normative, Ragn-Sells, Scania, Sida, Siemens Energy, Spowdi, SSAB, Confederation of Swedish Enterprise, Tetra Pak, TrusTrace. These companies help to strengthen Sweden's position as a natural partner in the green, circular and digital transition.

"Our common goal at COP29 is to inspire countries to raise the ambition of their national climate commitments by clarifying that the solutions exist and what is required for them to be scaled up and implemented. As a climate matchmaker between countries' challenges and existing solutions, the ambition is to increase Sweden's contribution to the Paris Agreement and accelerate Sweden's transition to net zero by 2045," says Emma Modéer-Wiking, Head of Sustainability at Business Sweden.

COP29 takes place 11-22 November in Baku. The Swedish pavilion is located in the diplomatic negotiation zone, the so-called blue zone. Follow the program on-site or via our webcast. All information is available on Business Sweden's website via this link.
