Byggmax has opened a new store in Malmö
Another large chain store establishes in Malmö when Byggmax open a store today at Stenyxegatan 15 in Malmö, a positive development for the growth of the city of Malmö.
− Byggmax contribute, with the opening of a new store, to the business growth in Malmö, says Johan Andersson, regional manager at Byggmax Syd. For a long time we have wanted to establish in Malmö and now we have found a good location for Byggmax, where a lot of people passes by. Our stores in Löddeköpinge, Vellinge and Staffanstorp are doing well, so it feels great to be able to open in Malmö.
Stenyxegatan have a good and easily accessible location, with a large space of 12 000 sqm and a possibility to establish a Byggmax concept. Overall, a space of approximately 8000 sqm is necessary, where the retail store and the drive-in occupy most of the space. Byggmax’s concept is based on offering customers quality products at low prices, where customers can do a part of the job themselves to keep the costs down. Byggmax in Malmö will be the first in the city, but the ninth in Skåne. Byggmax’s experience is that the inhabitants of Skåne are competent DIY-customers and professionals who want quality at a low cost.
Byggmax is a DIY that Sveriges villaägare (“Sweden’s homeowners”) consider to have the lowest price, and according to the magazine Vi i Villa’s panel, 59 % of the men and 41 % of women consider Byggmax to have the lowest price, compared to 9% and 11% for the closest competitors. Byggmax also won ”Testfaktas” price survey the 1st of June 2011 for a 20 sqm terrace.
The cheapest garden shed is to be found at Byggmax according to matvarupriser.se, 83 percent differed between Byggmax and the most expensive competitor. The survey included 27 products that are necessary to build an insulated shed in 101 stores in 28 cities. The cheapest shed was to be found at Byggmax and had a cost of 19.190 SEK, and the most expensive store had a total cost of 35.026 SEK.
