Hung Vu, one of Washington, D.C.’s Top Technology Executives, joins eChalk as Chief Technology Officer

NEW YORK (April 25, 2011) – eChalk, the pioneer of social learning platforms for effective communication and collaboration in K-12 education, today named Hung Vu as its chief technology officer (CTO) and newest addition to its devoted team of eChalkers. Vu will provide the vision and technical expertise to deliver eChalk’s next generation of social learning management systems. His extensive 25-year history working in the software technology field with proven success will help eChalk develop innovative products and services that improve teaching and learning.

Vu’s extensive knowledge of Microsoft technology and experience in developing best-in-class enterprise software will help eChalk leverage its resources and partnerships to create applications that enable all school stakeholders to connect, communicate and collaborate anytime, anywhere, to provide effective, personalized learning for students.

Vu was named one of Washington D.C.’s Top 10 Technology Executives by the Washington Post and Washington Techway in 2001. While serving as executive vice president of development at Telarix, he grew the company’s global product development and support division from eight to more than 100, increasing productivity, employee morale and effectiveness. He helped the company build the top performing telecommunications interconnect optimization suite used by eight of the 10 largest carriers. He also served as the senior vice president of product engineering and technical integration at Plateau Systems, a provider of enterprise-class, software-as-a-service talent management suites, where he built the highest rated corporate learning management system. Vu also founded and operated a 40-person software firm, NeoQuest Technologies, for six years.

Vu’s proven leadership began in the United States Naval Reserve where he had the honor of being the first naturalized Vietnamese-born naval aviator. He graduated from Elmhurst College with a bachelor’s degree in computer science and completed the Leading Product Innovation program, an Executive Education course of study at the Harvard Business School.
