Arik Air West Africa’s Largest Airline Introduces New Winter Schedule For Non-Stop New York to Lagos Route
New York, NY, August 30, 2012 - Arik Air, West Africa’s largest airline is set to introduce a new schedule for it’s non-stop New York, JFK to Murtala Muhammad International, Lagos flight. The revised winter schedule will be effective from 29th October 2012.
The new schedule offers departure times out of JFK airport, New York City at 12:00noon local time on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, arriving in Lagos, Nigeria, Lagos at 4:30am local time the next day. The inbound flight will depart Lagos, Nigeria at 11:55pm local time on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, and will arrive at JFK, New York City at 6:30pm local time the following day. The New York to Lagos flight is an integral part of Arik Air’s international route network, and the amended schedule offers not only more convenience, but also increased customer choices.
“We are delighted that the demand for our services in the US continues to grow. The new schedule is a direct result of this increased demand for our services between the US and West Africa. Customers will now be able to make easier connections to our Nigerian domestic and West African regional services. In addition with the new arrival time in the US, passengers will have the chance to connect directly on to their final US destination,” said Robert Brunner, Vice President America’s Arik Air
To further aid customer choice and due to growing demand, Arik Air is to begin scheduled
commercial services between Lagos, Nigeria and Douala, Cameroon. The first flight
on the new route will take place on Thursday, 30 August and subsequently operate weekly on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
In 2011 Arik Air became a member of the International Air Transport Association (IATA)
having successfully completed its stringent operational safety audit in 2010. The airline
is the only Nigerian airline with USA/Federal Aviation Administration accreditation
enabling Arik Air to be the only West African airline that meets the standards required
to fly directly into the US.
