C-RAD Catalyst™ Selected as Elekta’s Preferred Solution for Free Breathing Gating

Elekta and C-RAD have signed an agreement in which the Catalyst™ system optical surface tracking has been selected as the Elekta preferred solution for free breathing gating in radiation therapy.

The Catalyst system is based on a new generation of hardware and software platform for high performance optical surface scanning and augmented reality through re-projection. Advanced and highly optimized algorithms for non-rigid registration and deformable models enable clinicians to perform a real-time assessment of patient positioning errors before and during treatment delivery. Interfaces to major vendors ensure a completely integrated workflow.

The Sentinel™ system was made available to Elekta customers worldwide in 2009. Under this new agreement, Catalyst technology also will be made available via the Elekta sales network.

“Elekta has enjoyed a good working relationship with C-RAD.  Together we are demonstrating value for our mutual customers by leveraging Elekta’s opens systems philosophy to provide solutions like C-RAD Catalyst and Elekta’s Response for free-breathing motion management.” says Tim Prosser, Director Oncology Business Line at Elekta.

“This collaboration with Elekta is strategically important,” add Erik Hedlund, CEO at C-RAD AB.“We are honored that Elekta selected C-RAD as the preferred supplier for this new and advanced application in respiratory gating. Integrated solutions for auto set up and respiratory gating will be made available to Elekta customers.”
