2 C-RAD Catalyst systems have been ordered by the Regional Hospital in Sundsvall, Sweden

C-RAD AB with its four fully owned subsidiaries are all active in the field of radiation therapy.  The Oncology Clinic of the Regional Hospital in Sundsvall, Sweden has placed an order of two C-RAD Catalyst systems. Installations of the systems shall be finished before end of 2012.

The Catalyst system is based on a new generation of hardware and software platform for high performance optical surface scanning and augmented reality through re projection. Advanced and highly optimized algorithms for non-rigid registration and deformable models enable the real-time assessment of patient positioning errors before and during treatment delivery. The system is calculating iso center adjustments. Interfaces to major LINAC vendors ensure a completely integrated workflow.

As part of an order of linac systems C-RAD has received an order of two Catalyst systems. Both systems will be equipped with advanced software to position the patient based on deformable algorithms. The systems will be equipped with interfaces to communicate with the Mosaiq system of Elekta.

Erik Hedlund, CEO, C-RAD AB:

”We are happy to announce the order of two Catalyst systems to the Regional Hospital in Sundsvall, Sweden. This order confirms the need for the C-RAD technology as an advanced tool to accurately position the patients before the radiation therapy treatments."

Andes Björeland, Medical Physicist, Radiation Physics dept. Sundsvall Hospital:

“We are convinced that the Catalyst system will simplify the patient setup process and increase the initial setup precision. This will lead to shorter time on the treatment table for the patients and a better work environment for the treatment staff.”
