An order of C-RAD Catalyst™ and SentinelTM systems to Kuopio University Hospital Finland

C-RAD AB with its three fully owned subsidiaries in Sweden and three international sales companies are all active in the field of radiation therapy. The University Hospital in Kuopio in Finland has ordered as part of their linac procurement two Catalyst and one Sentinel System.

The Catalyst™ is a next-generation high performance tracking system based on optical surface scanning and augmented reality through re-projection. Advanced and highly optimized algorithms for non-rigid registration and deformable models enable clinicians to perform a real-time assessment of patient positioning errors before and during treatment delivery. Interfaces to major vendors ensure a completely integrated workflow.

The Sentinel TM  is a dedicated system for 4DCT studies and motion detection.

The hospital will use the Catalyst system for respiratory gating at two Elekta linacs. The Sentinel System upgrades the existing Siemens CT to do prospective and retrospective CT studies.

Kuopio university hospital is one of the largest hospitals in Finland. The radiotherapy department has beside conventional linacs also a CyperKnife from Accuray installed in their facilities.

Erik Hedlund, CEO, C-RAD AB:

”C-RAD has by Elekta been selected as the preferred supplier for respiratory gating with free breathing. This order shows the demand from customers to do advanced respiration triggered treatment techniques. We appreciate the cooperation with the Elekta sales organization in Scandinavia. ”
