C-RAD AB: Order of 5 C-RAD Catalyst systems

5 C-RAD Catalyst systems have been ordered by Skåne University Hospital
C-RAD AB with its four fully owned subsidiaries are all active in the field of radiation therapy. Skåne University Hospital (SUS), Sweden has placed an order of five C-RAD Catalyst systems. Installations of the systems will start in 2012.
The Catalyst system is based on a new generation of hardware and software platform for high performance optical surface scanning and augmented reality through re projection. Advanced and highly optimized algorithms for non-rigid registration and deformable models enable the real-time assessment of patient positioning errors before and during treatment delivery. The system is calculating iso center adjustments. Interfaces to major LINAC vendors ensure a completely integrated workflow.
In April 2011 a research agreement was signed with the Lund University to develop and implement a solution for respiratory gating at the Skåne University Hospital. The clinical implementation is expected to start January 2012.
In spring 2011 a clinical cooperation was also established with the Skåne University Hospital with the objective to validate and develop clinical work flows of new functionalities based on the unique features of the Catalyst system for interactivity, real-time recording and deformable algorithms. Two Catalyst systems have in between been installed at SUS in Malmö.
As part of a larger order of linac systems C-RAD has received an order of five Catalyst systems. For of these systems will be integrated with Varian True beam accelerators to be installed at SUS in Lund. C-RAD also received a major order in dosimetry of IBA Blue Phantom and Star track systems.

Skåne University Hospital is one of the few hospitals in Europe with experience in respiratory gating. Especially breast cancer patients have successfully been treated with this technique.
SUS has also been involved in the developments of the C-RAD Sentinel and GEMini systems."
