Orders of six C-RAD Catalyst™ and SentinelTM systems from South Korea

C-RAD AB with its three fully owned subsidiaries in Sweden and three international sales companies are all active in the field of radiation therapy. The C-RAD representative in South Korea, HDX Corporation has placed orders of six Sentinel and Catalyst systems to be installed at two different sites.

The Catalyst™ is a next-generation high performance tracking system based on optical surface scanning and augmented reality through re-projection. Advanced and highly optimized algorithms for non-rigid registration and deformable models enable clinicians to perform a real-time assessment of patient positioning errors before and during treatment delivery. Interfaces to major vendors ensure a completely integrated workflow.

The SentinelTM  is a dedicated system for 4DCT studies and motion detection.

The Catalyst systems will be fully equipped with advanced functionalities for patient positioning, motion detection and respiratory gating. The Sentinel system will be equipped with functionality for 4DCT to do prospective studies.

The systems will be installed at two major sites in South Korea. The systems to Korea Cancer Center Hospital will be installed at an existing accelerator system from Varian. The systems to Soon Chun Hyang University Hospital, Seoul will be installed at a new site with an accelerator from Elekta.

Erik Hedlund, CEO, C-RAD AB:

”The long term relationship with HDX corporation in South Korea has developed well. HDX is selling the C-RAD systems as a high end solution for respiratory gating. In spite of a decline in number of linac projects, bookings of C-RAD systems in 2012 to South Korea increased.”
