The Catalyst system is based on a new generation hardware and software platform for high performance optical surface scanning and augmented reality through re-projection. Advanced and highly optimized algorithms for non-rigid registration and deformable models enable real-time assessment of patient positioning errors before and during treatment delivery. The system calculates isocenter adjustments and interfaces to major vendors ensure a completely integrated workflow. The C-RAD Sentinel system, based on laser technology, is offering advanced functionality for 4DCT.

One Catalyst system and one Sentinel system has been ordered by the radiation therapy clinic in Gelsenkirchen. The systems are equipped with advanced functionalities for respiratory gating and positioning of patients.

One Catalyst system has been ordered by the University hospital in Mannheim. The system is equipped with functionalities for positioning, monitoring and respiratory gating based on breath hold. The University hospital in Mannheim is an important reference site for Elekta.

As part of a cooperation the clinic is performing a study comparing data from cone beam CT and C-RAD Catalyst. A report will be published in 2013.

Erik Hedlund, CEO, C-RAD AB:

”  The two new orders from clinics in Germany are a result of the decision to establish direct sales and support to customers in Germany. Important is also the new agreement and cooperation with Elekta.

The linacs will be equipped with Elekta response 2 interfaces.”
