C Technologies subsidiary Anoto presents partners in all fields Anoto confirms de facto standard for digital paper by presenting a string of new and already established partners; 3M, At-A-Glance, A'zone, Charles Letts, Chee Wah, Cross, Daigo, Esselte, Ericsson Microsoft Mobile Venture, Ericsson Mobile Communications, Europolitan Vodafone, Filofax, Franklin Covey, Grandluxe, Kokuyo, Mead, Montblanc, Nippecraft, Pilot, Sonera, Speedy Tomato, Telefónica Móviles, Time Manager International, Time System International and Tjiwi Kimia. "I am convinced that digital pens with supporting services will be very commonly used in the future. With our latest partners, the operators, we establish the most important channel to reach the end user. At the same time we stimulate the use of services and therefore the sales of digital pens. It now looks as if Anoto has the possibility of becoming the main technology supplier for these products and services. The strengthening of the de facto standard will continue at the same time as Anoto increases the concentration on volumes during the second half of 2001, thus enabling our partners to reach the market with their products and services", says Christer Fåhraeus, President of Anoto AB. The aim is to get the first products and services based on Anoto functionality onto the market during the latter part of 2001. Marketing on a broader front is planned for the first half of 2002. Digital pens A new pen partner, A.T. Cross Company, leading producer of branded pens and innovator within the field of pen computing, is entering into an agreement with Anoto to produce digital pens and services based on the Anoto concept. Montblanc and Pilot are planning the production of digital pens with Anoto functionality. Motorola Motorola is showing a Bluetooth enabled pen based on Anoto technology at CeBIT. Logitech Logitech is presenting its Bluetooth strategy "A working vision of the Bluetooth Future" at a press conference on Saturday March 24. The company is showing a Bluetooth enabled pen based on Anoto technology. Anders Tormod, Executive Vice President Consumer Devices of Anoto, is presenting the digital paper and Anoto concept. Ericsson Mobile Communications Ericsson Mobile Communications is showing "Chatpen", a conceptual pen based on Anoto technology together with a selection of paper applications. "We are presently evaluating the Anoto concept. It points out the fact that this technology adds both value and volume to mobile telephony, and we are planning a commercial test of "Chatpen" and its applications during the second half of 2001." This according to Ericsson Mobile Communications. Digital paper Together with new and old producers and distributors of paper products and calendars in Europe, the U.S., Asia and Japan, a complete coverage of the paper sector has been achieved. Those supporting the global de facto standard include 3M, At-A-Glance, A'zone, Charles Letts (including Financial Times diaries), Chee Wah, Daigo, Esselte, Filofax, Franklin Covey, Grandluxe, Kokuyo, Mead, Nippercraft, Time Manager International, Time System International and Tjiwi Kimia. Several calendar manufacturers are already in the process of printing note pads based on Anoto functionality. Esselte Esselte is showing designed note pads based on the Anoto concept. Operators and services New operators committing themselves to the Anoto concept are Europolitan Vodafone, Telia's portal company Speedy Tomato and Spanish Telefónica Móviles. Ericsson Microsoft Mobile Venture is planning to make its mobile e-mail solution Moso compatible with the Anoto functionality. The Finnish telephone operator Sonera is, together with Anoto, presently evaluating services with the aim of integrating them in Sonera's range of products. Anoto's concept is based on three components: ordinary paper made digital by the almost invisible Anoto pattern, digital pens with Bluetooth communication and services delivered to the market by a mobile operator.
