Calgary, AB – NHL alumni will be hitting the ice for a great cause at Calgary Health Trust’s third annual NOV Wilson 3-on-3 Hockey Challenge, a tournament in support of Calgary's Neonatal Intensive Care Units (NICUs), on Saturday, September 8, 2012.

“As a proud partner of Calgary Health Trust, we are pleased to present the 2012 NOV Wilson 3-on-3 Challenge. It is an incredible honour to be part of this great event,” says Scott Hauck, President, NOV Wilson – Canada. “NOV Wilson is committed to investing in our community. Many of our people at NOV Wilson and throughout the community have relied on the incredible clinicians in the NICUs, and we are so pleased to be supporting them in the care they provide to our tiniest players.”

Former Calgary Flames forward Craig Conroy is once again the Celebrity Chair for this year’s tournament, and several NHL alumni, including former Calgary Flames Anothony (Tony Stiles), Dwayne Hay, Paul Kruse Craig Levie, Dennis Polonich and Mark Astley, will take to the ice with players from the community at the Don Hartman North East Sportsplex.

Family and friends are also invited to participate in this great day of hockey, food and family fun. Admission is free. There will be a KidsZone, with face painting, balloon artists, a bounce house and more open from 11a.m. – 2 p.m., as well as a visit from 2010 Olympic gold medalists and world champions Denny Morrison and Christine Nesbitt.

Tournament proceeds will enhance equipment in Neonatal Intensive Care Units at the Foothills Medical Centre, Peter Lougheed Centre and Rockyview General Hospital. These units provide specialized, high-level care to sick and premature newborns, helping them survive the most critical situations.

Since its inception the NOV Wilson 3-on-3 Hockey Challenge raised $356,000 for equipment that will increase the chance of survival for infants receiving care at our hospitals.
