California Inns offer Wine Tasting Packages in Conjunction with California Wine Month

Few things pair better with wine tasting than a stay at a California inn.  Several members of the California Association of Boutique & Breakfast Inns (CABBI) are offering Wine Packages in conjunction with September’s California Wine Month.  Many of the specials also extend into the fall harvest season.

The Timber Cove Inn on the Sonoma Coast offers ocean views, beautifully furnished rooms and proximity to some of the region’s most esteemed winemaking establishments. The inn’s Fort Ross Vineyard Wine Escape package provides an opportunity to experience one of the best. The highly acclaimed Fort Ross Vineyard tasting room, just 15 minutes from the Timber Cove Inn, welcomes Timber Cove Inn guests with a VIP tasting. Guest will enjoy a flight of Fort Ross Vineyard’s most special wines, paired with local cheeses and Scharffenberger chocolates. An autographed commemorative bottle of Fort Ross Vineyard’s “Bicentennial” Pinot Noir is included in the package. Rates start at $239 for one night; stay a second night and get 50% off. Mount View Hotel & Spa offers guests a relaxing place to unwind and experience Calistoga’s famous hot springs, cool wines and warm welcome. The inn’s Taste of Calistoga Package for Two includes accommodations in a queen or double-twin room, complimentary tastings at two Calistoga wineries, a hydrotherapy mud bath with steam and a $100 gift certificate to the JoLe Restaurant. Also included are a day pass to the Old Faithful Geyser and two Mount View Inn shopping totes.  The package price starts at $449 plus tax. Offer is valid Sunday-Thursday through November 7, 2013. Tradewinds Carmel is celebrating California wines with a wine and dine package that highlights some of the best vintages of the region. Visitors to the Tradewinds will be within walking distance of over 12 tasting rooms in downtown Carmel alone; the town also offers a wide selection of award-winning dining establishments. The wine and dine package includes two Wine Passports (a $130 value) valid at nine local tasting rooms, as well as $75 dining certificate redeemable at one of four Carmel restaurants. At the end of the day, guests will enjoy the Tradewinds’ peaceful, Zen-luxe setting. Package price starts at $515 for one night and $845 for two nights. Enjoy a two-night stay in Central Coast wine country with The Victorian Mansion Bed and Breakfast’s Wine Lover’s Package.  Guests will be greeted with a bottle of premium California red from the area upon arrival. After finishing breakfast en suite in the morning, guests will be picked up for a chauffeured day of wine tasting in the areas made famous by the movie Sideways.  Afterwards, guests will arrive back at the Mansion to their private suite with hot tub and fireplace. The luxurious L’Auberge Carmel, Relais and Chateaux offers a number of packages for the food and wine enthusiast. The inn’s Carmel-by-the-Sea Wine Tasting Package features a Carmel Wine Walk passport for two with a self-guided tour of seven tasting rooms within walking distance of the hotel.   The package also includes a one night stay, a $75 dining credit at the popular Italian restaurant Cantinetta Luca (with corkage fees waived for one bottle) and Aubergine’s signature breakfast for two.  Package rates start at $485 midweek and $535 on weekends. For a luxe wine tasting tour, opt for the River Road Wine Trail Package.  The two night package features a chauffeured tour of the River Road Wine Trail in a 2012 S Class 350 BlueTec Mercedes Benz with tours and tastings at two of the Central Coast’s premiere vineyards, Marilyn Remark and Talbott Vineyards. The package includes a picnic lunch, nightly turndown service and Aubergine’s signature breakfast. Corkage fees at Aubergine will be waived for any wine purchased during the tour. Package rates start at $1,454 mid-week and $1,499 on weekends. Prices include service fees, but excludes hotel occupancy tax and restaurant gratuity.
